Casino Shopping in Vegas

For me, the experience of traveling to Las Vegas is one that should be approached with a single-minded focus. What I mean by this is that I think of Vegas as being all about gambling. Obviously, that is the very activity which made Vegas great in the first place, way back when the of Bugsy first had a crazy dream about building a glittering paradise in the middle of a godforsaken desert. In fact, you may be wondering, “What the hell is this guy rambling about? Of course the primary the reason for visiting Las Vegas is gambling. Is it possible Floyd has mixed up his medications yet again?”
Well, let me point out that over the course of the past two decades Las Vegas has undergone a radical transformation. Especially since the mid-1990s, the city has reinvented itself as a destination for tourists of every walk of life, even those who do not have the slightest interest in or knowledge about gambling. Thus, you see such a panoply of theme park rides, high-end restaurants, live entertainment, classy bistros and shopping boutiques. For a large percentage of visitors, these “secondary” diversions are the main attraction. Strange is it may sound, is not atypical to meet someone on the Strip who has not even bothered to spend five minutes sitting at the green felt.
I realize that change is the only constant in this life and that we all must adapt to whatever curves appear in the road ahead of us. Nonetheless, it's with a sense of reluctance that I accept the fact that Las Vegas has become known around the world as a epicenter of great shopping. That reality just does not easily blend in with my own perception of the town which is largely based upon the 1950s era of booze, broads and bingo (not necessarily in that order.)
But since we are talking about shopping in Vegas, I might as well tell you about what I consider to be the premier destination for this activity. If there’s one hotel/resort you should visit for the purpose of shopping, it is Caesar's Palace. This truly is an impressive place to spend huge amounts of money on luxury items you probably don't need.
There are two separate shopping areas within Caesar's property. The first of these is known as the Forum, and is the home of a wide range of high-end stores. Featuring more than 160 boutiques as well as 13 restaurants and specialty food shops, you can easily spend an entire day here without seeing it all.
The second shopping area at Caesar's Palace is known as the Appian Way. Here, you will find a slightly different shopping experience than at the Forum. These stores are geared toward a brand-specific mindset, with signature boutiques licensed by notable names such as Elton John and Celine Dion. You owe it to yourself to check out both the Forum at Ceasar’s and the Appian Way at least once - just don’t let it keep you from the tables for too long.
